2021 marks the 125th year of when the S.S. Meteor Whaleback Ship was launched as the Rockefeller. This ship has had quite a career from 1896 to 1969. Currently, it is the only whaleback ship left in the world. Please join us in celebrating its long life as a ship and its life as a Maritime Museum since 1973. This is also a major Fund Raiser for the coverings on the Life Boats on the Meteor. Please join us in celebrating the birthday and hopefully you can donate funds to help buy and cover the lifeboats.

For more details about the event and how you can donate, please go to the website at www.superiorpublicmuseums.com to see what is planned for the celebration.

No tricks! Diving’s a treat! As a warm-up for Halloween and fall, divers from BSA Scuba Venture Crew 820 will team up with divers from the Great Lakes Shipwreck Preservation Society (GLSPS) on this event carving pumpkins on an underwater training platform 24 feet down.
We do need additional volunteers to serve as shore support.
