2021 - Cruise Up - Closing Report

Closing Report:

The RV Preservation is finally back in Silver Bay after a one year sabbatical!

During the July 4th weekend 2021 Tim Pranke, Corey Daniel, Jim Christensen, Jon Connolly and Dale Koziol cruised the RV Preservation from Spirit Lake Marina in Duluth to Silver Bay Marina.

On the way up, the crew installed all the shipwreck mooring buoys on most regularly dived shipwrecks along the North Shore. They installed the S.P. Ely, Madeira bow and stern and the Hesper mooring buoys. Now dive boats and charters can secure their boats to the moorings to make it easier for divers to dive the shipwrecks.

The RV Preservation ran great, the weather was great and the diving was still "cold". Despite the hot temperatures we had been witnessing earlier than normal this year, the Lake Superior waters are still cold at a 38 to 41 degrees.

The crew reported a great time cruising the boat to Silver Bay this year. It was a little later this year because of the many delays in prepping the boat and staffs schedules to consider.

A great time was had by all that participated and had a great 4th of July Celebration
